As for project beneficiaries feedback, the Dewe Woreda/District Girls forum head who is Zahara Wuhibe said that, we are responsible for training and sensitizing the population in favor of the promotion of girls’ education; regularly monitoring the performance of students, especially girls; improving access and retention of students in school by providing them with a safe environment for learning; contributing to the organization of complementary courses and reinforcement of students’ knowledge; raising awareness on early marriage and early pregnancy of girls; undertaking actions aimed at improving access and retention in school for students in general and girls in particular. Moreover, “we have been conducting several public advocacy campaigns to educate our girls. We have partnered with all the community leaders to sensitize the community on stopping violence against girls. We are grateful for (the Malala fund project) and we won’t stop the campaign. The project has led to more girls being enrolled to school and retained in school up to class eight, and transited to secondary school as evident in the number of girls in Mohamed Bodaya Secondary schools found in Dewe Woreda of Afar region.” (Dewe Woreda/District Girls Forum Head)
